Kristina M. Moris, President
Kristina is an expert executive coach, consultant, facilitator and speaker. Her specialties include leadership development, management training, high performance team development, investigations and creating a respectful workplace (discrimination/harassment prevention). She has been assisting a wide variety of clients throughout the Northwest since 1992.
Prior to joining The Washington Firm, Ltd. in 1992, Kristina spent 6 1/2 years with King Broadcasting Company. She started as the Human Resources Director for KING TV, KING AM/FM Radio and Corporate Headquarters and was then promoted to V.P. of Human Resources for the cable television division. In these roles, she facilitated management retreats, designed and delivered management training and provided human resource consulting services. Before moving to King Broadcasting, Kristina worked at Eli Lilly and Company.
Kristina earned her MBA in Human Resources from Cornell University in 1983 and has a B.A. in Finance and Marketing from the University of Washington.

J. Tucker Miller, Senior Consultant
With 20 years of experience working in diverse capacities with corporations, Tucker brings a rich, well-rounded perspective to her work with clients. Tucker provides executive and employee coaching services and conducts workplace investigations into allegations of harassment, discrimination and/or retaliation. Tucker also serves as an expert witness in harassment and discrimination cases.
Prior to establishing her consulting practice in 2004, Tucker spent 17 years in various legal, Human Resources and corporate leadership positions. As Director of Employee Relations for a Fortune 500 company based in Seattle, she responded to employee complaints, prepared responses to EEOC charges, represented the company in dispute resolution efforts, provided human resource and manager training, and routinely advised human resource leaders and generalists in responding to employee and compliance issues.
Tucker is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and is licensed to practice law in the state of Washington. Tucker earned her JD from Willamette University College of Law (Salem, OR), and has a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Washington.
Roz Turner, Senior Consultant
Roz Turner has over 25 years business experience and specializes in executive coaching, team development, retreat facilitation, leadership development and culture change. She has been assisting a wide variety of clients throughout the US and internationally.
Prior to her consulting career, Roz Turner had a 12-year career in marketing and management. In this capacity, she worked with senior executive teams of high technology companies in the Rocky Mountain region to help formulate strategic and tactical marketing plans. She was also a manager for United Banks of Colorado, Inc. and an account executive with Krupp Taylor Direct Marketing and Burson-Marsteller Public Relations.
Ms. Turner is the author of the book and video-tape series, Making the Most of Change (When Change is Making the Most of You).
She has an MA in Communication from the University of Denver and a BS in Communication from Ohio State University.
Theresa Partlow, Senior Consultant
Theresa Partlow has 20 years of progressive human resource management experience working for multi-site national companies. Her background includes direct responsibility for policy development, recruitment and retention, employee/labor relations, compensation and benefits, multi-media and training. For the past 10 years Theresa has held the position of Director of Human Resources for two leading healthcare organizations and was most recently Vice President of Human Resources.
Theresa is experienced in helping employers in all aspects of human resource management with particular emphasis on employer/employee relations, harassment and discrimination investigation, conflict resolution and compliance reviews.
Theresa also has significant experience working with the EEOC, dealing with wage and hour issues, compensation and benefit plan assessment and design and project management.
Prior to joining the Washington Firm, Ltd. in 2007, Theresa spent 8 years with Emeritus Assisted Living Company, most recently as the VP Human Resources. Prior to Emeritus, Theresa worked at Sun Healthcare as Human Resources Director and Virginia Mason Medical Center as Benefit Manager.
Desree Griffin, Senior Consultant
Ms. Griffin combines professional depth in employment law and compensation system design with extensive professional experience. Desree provides comprehensive expertise in compensation design and administration, including the design and implementation of base pay, variable pay, bonus, commission and benefits compensation systems.
Ms. Griffin also serves as interim HR Director for client organizations in transition, conducts management training and supervisory skills seminars and conducts investigations.
Before joining The Washington Firm, she worked in human resources for Ostex, a bio-tech company, providing full generalist support during the company’s IPO and rapid expansion. Her previous experience also included assignments with the intellectual property law firm Christensen, O’Connor, Johnson & Kindness and the general practice law firm Gordon, Thomas, Honeywell, Malanca, Peterson & Daheim. Ms. Griffin has completed extensive course work in employment law, management training and compensation system design.
Michael Melancon, Senior Consultant
As Organizational Effectiveness Practice Leader for The Washington Firm, Michael Melancon is an accomplished designer of practical organizational effectiveness strategies for a wide range of companies. He takes his 30 years of experience as a strategic business partner to focus on maximizing company performance and profitability through precise alignment of human resource initiatives with core business objectives. Mike is an effective change management architect with national experience aligning widely divergent corporate cultures and processes in conjunction with corporate restructuring, process reengineering, mergers and acquisitions.
Recently, Mike worked for ProBusiness, a boutique provider of Outsourced Payroll and Human Resources services for Fortune 500 companies. As Vice President of HR, Mike directed the company’s Human Resources program and designed and implemented outsourced HR and Payroll administrative products and services. Mike also served as Vice President of Organizational Effectiveness and Human Resources for Cost Care, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company.
Mike trained in adult learning theory at the University of California, where he holds a B.S. in Applied Behavioral Science. After graduating from U.C. Davis, Mike worked and lectured in human resource management for the University of California at both the Davis and Irvine campuses and medical centers.
Cathy McCarty, Senior Consultant
Cathy brings twenty years experience in employee relations, investigations, management training, policy development and implementation, career counseling, recruitment, and Affirmative Action program development and implementations.
As a Senior Consultant with The Washington Firm for over ten years, Cathy has provided our clients with support in management and supervisory training, employee relations, developing strategic human resources systems and independent investigations. She is a knowledgeable and engaging speaker whose sense of humor keeps audiences entertained, while educating them on important human resources issues for managers.
Cathy worked as Employment Manager/EEO Coordinator for Pacific First Bank, where she developed, implemented and administered a centralized recruitment program for a 130 branch system in Washington, Oregon, and California. Later, as an Employee Relations Representative for Airborne Express, Cathy provided support to headquarters and field personnel in approximately 240 locations in the United States.
Cathy is a native of Eastern Washington and a graduate of Washington State University.
Cindy Wellman, Senior Consultant
Cindy Wellman, Senior Consultant, brings nearly twenty five years experience in employee relations, investigations, employee and management development and training, executive recruitment, policy development and implementation, and career consulting. Cindy consults in multiple areas of human resources and conducts workplace investigations into allegations of harassment, discrimination and/or retaliation.
Cindy has broad experience in the public sector, working with all levels of employees, including bargaining unit members. Cindy began her Human Resource career in 1980 at the Snohomish County Public Utility District where she retired in January 2005. She served as a senior member of the Employee Resources Department, providing guidance and coaching to others in the department and to all levels of management.
Cindy attended Everett and Edmonds Community Colleges, the University of Washington, and the University of Michigan School of Business.
Mary Bogan, Senior Consultant
In her more than 20 years professional career with public and private organizations, Mary Bogan has acquired an extensive background in project management, training, consulting, facilitating, organizational development, and transformation. Her demonstrated areas of expertise include diversity as a skill, change management, and individual and organizational coaching and counseling.
As a counselor in the Office of Minority Affairs at the University of Washington for seven years, Ms Bogan advised over 2000 students and served on the board of Academic Standards and Reinstatement. As Director, Ms Bogan managed a multi-cultural academic advisory staff which represented African Americans, Asian Americans, Native Americans and Latinos as well as economically disadvantaged individuals.
In 1979, Ms Bogan joined the organization now known as US West Communications Inc. A highlight of her career at US West was co-founding Joint Ventures Associates, a team created to manage organizational culture. Her ability to facilitate change won her widespread support from both union and management, and resulted in her presenting this change model at the National Organizational and Development Conference and the National Ecology of Work Conference.
An outstanding presenter, trainer and speaker, she combines wit and humor as she engages her audience in a learning journey. Her background as a native of Mississippi and product of the 60s, as well as her first hand experience of the "woes of change," add to her credibility as a trainer in the areas of diversity and change.
